WOW!

Wow! What an exciting week here at the school. I am speechless at the amazing opportunities the children have had, the learning that is taking place and the fun that comes as a result. Here are just a few highlights:

Feeling the love

As part of our Santes Dwynwen Day celebrations, we were treated to some amazing homework from so many children! Over 40 families worked with their children to create some beautiful items. This doesn’t happen by itself, so THANK YOU for the time you have spent to do this. It is such an honour to work with so many caring and sharing parents. Well done to everyone that took part, and our winners:

Digital Leaders

Our digital leaders took part in an event with other schools from across the Milford Haven Cluster yesterday. They worked in teams to decide on a competition for Safer Internet Day, which is coming up in February. More news to follow from them next week.

And then….today!

Today has been magical. We’ve welcomed author Jackie Morris. An incredible person who has inspired us all today in the wonder of literature. ERW Literacy Adviser, Evan John, introduced Jackie to us in assembly. She read from her book. Showed us illustrations and answered questions from children across the school. The quality of incredible poetry and writing in Class 3 are inspirational. All is on display for children across the school to view in our corridors. I will add a page to the website with every piece of work over the course of next week for everyone to share in.

Similarly, Class 1 and 2 have enjoyed following their own learning paths and engaging in learning today as well. Cooking club have been cooking up a storm of juicy jacket potatoes. Just take a look:

Attendance

There are a number of year groups who have been trying to gain the 100% attendance award over the last few months. One year group in particular have been near, but not quite made it. Today they managed to hit the 100% barrier and will receive their reward next week.

Congratulations to Year 6, who will have a popcorn and film screening next Friday afternoon. They were so pleased with their achievement and we all are too. Well done.

Our Part Time Nursery children have been here every day as well this week. Unfortunately, some of them had left by the time we had our result. So we will include a picture of them and what they have chosen as a treat next week!

Thank you for your continued support in trying to help Coastlands CP school continue to build its work in being the very best it can be for every learner.
