What an end to the term.
I must extend a personal thanks again to every child, family and staff member for their kindness, support and general chats through this term. We’ve had parties, we’ve had games, we’ve had Christmas-based Numeracy and Literacy and we’ve had great FUN doing it. We have as well had a Christmas Assembly today to celebrate the meaning of the season, as well as to spend time together before we break up for the holiday.
We say goodbye today to Taya, who is moving to pastures new in the New Year. She is a lovely girl who has been doing so well in her class. We wish her the very best for her new adventures in January.
We also say goodbye, for now, to Mrs Fran Jones. She has worked in Class 1 as LSA and HLTA over the last few years at the school, and has also worked as a Governor of the school. We are very sad to see her go at this point, but wish her the best in her new role from January.
Miss K Goodridge will join the staff from January – it’s been a very end-of-term appointment, but Miss Goodridge looks forward to introducing herself to families after the break. She has met with Mrs Jones and met some of our morning Nursery children today!
The school have produced a short newsletter for families to share some of the exciting things that have been going on in each class this term. Have a look at this link to see it: https://sway.com/X6HgK5cVS7MwwSQg?ref=Link
Many thanks for your work in supporting us with attendance during this term. We know that there have been many genuine illnesses and this is unavoidable, but, where children are well enough to learn, it is great to see them with us every day.
Our school now has an app that we will send information about after the Christmas break. This will enable you to see quickly what is going on in your calendar, to find policies and information and to receive “Push Notifications” (Message pop ups) when there is a reminder or something happening. This will continue to be used alongside our Twitter feed, and also with our text service which we look to launch in the new year. Exciting stuff, and just another example of how we as a school are trying to go above and beyond in terms of providing information and communication.
I’ve given a bit more of a hint in our newsletter about what will be in store from January. We continue to develop our school to make it the best it can be for our children, and look forward to continuing that partnership on our return.
I extend warm seasons greetings to everybody and look forward to our return in the new year. Boys and Girls, have a safe and happy time at home. Roll on 2018!
